Recently my campus's Women's Center has begun their promotional activities to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault. Their posters cover the outdoor quad. Signs proclaim: 1 in 4 Women are Raped, 1 in 3 Women have been Abused, More than 3 Women a Day are Murdered by their Husbands or Boyfriends in the U.S., and 60% of Rapes are Not Reported.
My first question was, if the majority of rapes are not reported, then how do they know that 1 in 4 women are raped? [It might be higher]. [It might be lower]...

This was a question an ex-friend of mine once asked me. Confused, high, and drunk, he said, "Zek, I've just got one question: why a Black girl?"
My sarcaustic reply, "Because I hate White people."

This past week has been a blur of working, writing, going to class, watching X-Files, anti-racist blogging, preparing for a GED fundraiser, promoting the open-mic I host, and revising my book for publication.

After [a slew of posts] on [the subject] I've finally completed this final round of sources and citations regarding the heritability of IQ, the lack of validity for race as a biological category in humans, and the connection between race, genetics, and IQ -- all with regards to scientific racism.
Here at Saboteur Academia, we often bring you the latest and greatest in cyberspace counter-intelligence, particularly regarding the prevalence of interweb diseases, as well as strong inoculations against bigotry, prejudice, ignorance, discrimination, and outright vitriolic. We drop knowledge bombs like other blogs drop vapid text-walls.
It's a dirty job, but we enjoy it!
So prepare yourselves for one last foray into the breach my fellow saboteurs!

For the freelance writer, working often means procrastinating until the last possible second. (If you wait till the last minute, it'll only take a minute, right? The Procrastinator's Credo!) And in my spare time, when I should be working I have instead absconded into the depths of Netflix's new TV shows available for streaming. The X-Files was at the heart of my quest.

Y'know, the blogosphere can sometimes seem like a microcosm of the real world. The pissing contests, popularity contests, the bad writers who remind us of bad drivers, and the sheer insanity tearing its throat out to shout obscenities at faceless and nameless people like a hobo on the corner of Market & 9th street.
But it isn't. I've seen the real world, filled with a vast noise that drowns out even my own thoughts at times, and not even the most flaming troll has ever come close to that.
